than 32,000 employees, and the Parent Company, Vattenfall AB, is 100%-owned by
the Swedish state
Climate strategy and related
activities
Combating climate change is the most significant
environmental challenge of our time. With grave environmental and social
impacts predicted, urgent action is required to decrease CO2 emissions from the
combustion of fossil fuels.
Vattenfall has a responsibility to decrease
its CO2 emissions by improving and developing innovative technologies.
Vattenfall's climate initiatives also include promoting a long-term framework
for global emissions trading, initiating a study on where and how CO2
reductions are possible and creating an international industrial network for
climate policy issues.
Role in CANES
CANES is an
interesting initiative, well in line with Vattenfall's ambition to help
ourselfs increasing our understanding of essential issues through scientific
research. Equally important is the possibility to take part in an open forum
for discussions on the findings in cooperation with researchers as well as
other industrial partners and
stakeholders.
