About INSROP GIS data sets

The data sets included in INSROP GIS are organized into 'entity themes'. On the disk they are located as follows:

Path: <INSROP path>\database\<entity theme abbreviation>

The <entity theme abbreviation>'s used as sub-directory names are included in the description of the contents of each entity theme.

The data set information consists of two parts. One part is the actual data (spatial and/or tabular). The other part is the metadata, which comprises information about the contents of the data set and how the data set was prepared. The main purpose of the metadata is to help the user evaluate the usefulness of the data set and how to be able to use the data. The metadata are included as a part of the INSROP GIS Help files, and includes the following components:
