Geir Hønneland

Geir HønnelandPosition at FNI: Research Director / Research Professor

Academic background
   Full professor competence 2004.
   Dr. polit., University of Oslo, 2000 (political science).
   Cand. polit., University of Tromsø, 1993 (political science, Russian and Polish languages as well as Russia and East European studies).

Professional experience
   Adjunct Professor ("Professor II") at the Dept. of Political Science, University of Tromsø since 2005.
   Visiting scholar and professor of international environmental policy at the Dept. of Human Ecology, Rutgers University (USA) 2002-03.
   Researcher at NORUT Social Science Research 1994-95.
   Russian interpreter for the Coast Guard, Governor of Svalbard, Defence Head Command and Directorate of Fisheries 1988-1993.
