   Special envoy on energy and climate change, the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2010-2011).
   Project manager, Refleks, policy analysis / public outreach project on Norwegian national interest in the face of globalisation (2007-2009).
   Initiator and project manager, Oil for Development, Norad/Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2006-2007).
   State Secretary for international development, Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2005, 1997-2000).
   Partner, Senior policy analyst, ECON (1995-97, 2000-2005).
   Research assistant/fellow, Fridtjof Nansen Institute (1989-1995).

Main research interests
The geopolitics of energy; energy and climate change; energy governance challenges; resource curse dynamics and cures; determinants of energy development in the High North/Arctic region.
