The dataset contains the geographical distribution of the Indigenous Peoples of the North of the Russian Federation classified by language groups. Main source are: Narody Rossii i sopredelnykh stan. PKO "Kartografiya", Moskva 1995, updated with various additional data in the Taymyr area. For full information on this dataset, see INSROP Working paper No. 90 - 1997.

The area code "NP2" are defined in the legend-file indpeop.avl.
