Principles of reviewing

All INSROP Working Papers or Reports will be evaluated by an especially appointed reviewer. In case of multi-discplinary reports more than one reviewer may be necessary. It is the responsibility of the project supervisor to nominate suitable reviewer(s). This can be done in co-operation with the INSROP Secretariat, and the Secretariat will check that nominations are made in time. The Joint Research Committee shall approve the nomination.

The reviewer should be a recognised expert in the field in question and preferably not from the same country as the author(s). Since much work may be involved in reviewing some reports, the reviewer shall have a quite reasonable timeframe, and if necessary provide remuneration for the reviewer. The main principle concerning payment is that it will be a symbolic amount. This, however, has to be evaluated individually by the INSROP Secretariat in co-operation with the supervisor.
