The objectives was to improve biodiversity conservation in the Dongting lake area through sector integration of biodiversity conservation into economic sectors and developing mechanisms for horizontal cooperation on implementation of the CBD (Convention on Biodiverity) between those sectors and the EPB (Environmental Protection Bureau) in Hunan province, China. The Directorate for Nature Management was the overall Norwegian counterpart. FNI was subcontracted to ensure scientific and technical quality of the findings and to give relevant advice to the Chinese counterpart.
