The event, Arctic Security Workshop: Power Shifts and Transformational Change, brings together researchers and policy experts from both sides of the Atlantic. Through focused discussions and foresight exercises, participants will look at how changing power dynamics, climate disruption, and global uncertainty could affect the region up to 2050.

“The Arctic has long been a space for cooperation, but that picture is becoming more complex,” says Andreas Østhagen, Research Director at FNI. “This workshop is about understanding what comes next.”

Speakers include Ivo Daalder, former U.S. Ambassador to NATO, and David Balton, former U.S. Ambassador for Oceans and Fisheries, alongside experts on Russia, China, the EU, and India. Together, they will examine plausible futures for Arctic security and how the region reflects wider changes in the international order.
