Researchers, media and policymakers alike began making a range of claims about the future of the Arctic in 2006-2007. But what is the different between strategic and economic geopolitical interests in the northern region? Where are the resources discussed located, and how do they relate to predictions of conflict in and over the Arctic? Or to put it slightly differently, who actually ‘owns’ the Arctic?
