The conflict between Russia and Ukraine can have big impact on the European gas market. The article discusses how the transport capacity for Russian gas, Eus energy and climate policies and sale of Russian gas to China all can affect exports to Europe and European energy markets. Implications for sale of Norwegian gas to EU markets is also discussed, Norway recently took over Russia’s place as the number 1 supplier to Western Europe. Without transit of Russian gas through Ukraine, Russian gas exports ty Europe will fall significantly. But such reduction can partly be compensated by construction of the proposed new pipeline Turkish Stream.
