The Political Economy of Climate Change Adaptation. New York: Palgrave MacMillan (book review)

Review of Policy Research, Vol 34, No 1, 2017, pp. 132-133

This book represents a varied and fresh investigation into pitfalls of adaptation. While it could have gone further by including additional reflections about the conditions under which the four processes occur, it provides important pieces of the adaptation puzzle, preparing the way for policy studies and political science to supply much-needed insights not yet sufficiently provided. Adaptation research is in great need of such perspectives for explaining the processes at work, and The Political Economy of Climate Change Adaptation sets parts of the future agenda. It provides opportunities for new directions, while offering valuable inputs for practitioners who influence the design and implementation of adaptation processes.
