The report series assesses scientific, technical and socio-economic information concerning climate change, its potential effects, and options for adaptation and mitigation.

Mitigation of climate change

Wettestad was one of 873 nominated experts from around the world, with only 226 places available for Coordinating Lead Authors, Lead Authors and Review Editors. As Lead Author for IPCC’s Working Group III, Wettestad will help assess mitigation of climate change and, together with Coordinating Lead Author, have collective responsibility for the contents of one chapter.

At the forefront internationally

Wettestad was nominated to the IPCC in January by the Norwegian Environment Agency. He was then selected as Lead Author by the Bureau of the IPCC Working Groups, from among experts listed by governments and participating organizations, and other experts known Photo: Jan D.
