FNI co-hosted this workshop, where Arctic experts from around the world provided advice to the Norwegian leadership of the Arctic Council. In particular, Rottem discussed the international climate change commitment, and search-and-rescue cooperation in the North. In addition, the Arctic ambassadors (SAOs) of the Arctic Council member countries delivered speeches.

‘Rottem notes: ‘During our term, we anticipate further gatherings of this nature, where we will discuss a range of topics including indigenous issues and environmental toxins.’

Once a symbol of international cooperation and peace, the Arctic  region today stands at a crossroads between geopolitical tensions and diverse opportunities and challenges that require collaboration.
