My main research interests are within the fields of agrobiodiversity, conservation and use of genetic resources for food and agriculture, indigenous and farmers’ rights, and seed supply systems. Ongoing research studies seed security responses in humanitarian action and community-based initiatives in long-term development interventions, and how these responses are successful as platforms for seed and food security, livelihoods, development, and women’s empowerment. Other fields of interest are food security, agriculture, and adaptation to climate change. I have conducted evaluations of agricultural programmes and their effects on food security and long-term sustainable development in Colombia. Furthermore, I have evaluated seed security responses in Uganda and Somalia. Geographically, I am interested in expanding my research with more developing and developed countries.
