This project will:

• Summarize and develop a knowledge status on ecosystem-based management practices based on Norwegian and international research.
• Assess the strengths and weaknesses of the systems against challenges for Norwegian environmental management.
• Give an assessment of key management concepts and how they are applied in different sectors.
• Demonstrate success criteria and barriers to sustainable ecosystem-based management, including examples of good practice, differences and similarities between Swedish, Danish and Norwegian implementations of the EMF.
