Call for Papers – The Annual Conference of the Romanian Centre for Russian Studies

Andreas Østhagen, a noted expert in Arctic Geopolitics, is one of nineteen scholars who will take part in a series of events held in Washington, D.C. from April 24-28, 2023.
The Arctic Frontiers conference draws researchers, politicians, officials, business and local people across national borders in the Arctic. FNI was well represented at this year’s conference in Tromsø, where current issues concerning the future of Svalbard and the Arctic Council were discussed, as were local consequences of the geopolitical situation in the North.

Andreas Østhagen, a senior researcher at FNI, was recently interviewed on BBC Weekend about the United States' defense strategy in response to a growing Russian presence in the Arctic.
At the annual Tromsø conference Arctic Frontiers, FNI researchers will discuss the future of Svalbard and the Arctic Council, as well as the local consequences of the current geopolitical situation in the North.
